Fun facts for Friday

Did you know …

1. Americans eat about 3 pounds of peanut butter per person each year, totaling about 700 million pounds — enough to cover the floor of the Grand Canyon.

2. Consumers prefer creamy peanut butter to crunchy by a 60% to 40% ratio. Children and women prefer creamy, while most men opt for crunchy.

3. The average American child will eat 1,500 peanut butter sandwiches by the time he or she graduates from high school.

4. Arachibutyrophobia (pronounced I-RA-KID-BU-TI-PHO-BI-A) is the fear of peanut butter getting stuck to the roof of your mouth.

All this according to the Peanut Advisory Board and brought to me via my package of Bear Naked all natural granola in peanut butter & jelly flavor.

Now in our house, crunchy is favored over creamy despite the fact that we are female. And K may not get her 1,500 peanut butter sandwiches by high school graduation since our school district does not allow peanut butter (or any nuts) in school due to the ever-increasing and severe peanut allergies. Fascinating stuff. Fascinating.

Number Four is very funny and interesting and could make a great lede to an article or filler.
