Beware the Ides of March …

… do you remember that from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar? Classic political intrigue that has stuck in my mind since college. For poor Caesar, it was the day Brutus and Cassius hatched their assassination plot. And ever since, the 15th of March has come with a sense of foreboding. What might happen?

Well, I can tell you what will happen if you don’t take the time to painstakingly check the pockets of everything that goes into the laundry basket. Your washer rattles, moans and eventually breaks. Luckily, I prevented any such disaster this Ides of March by extracting the following …

Now a broken washer is certainly not as bad as losing your head (literally). Still, it goes to show how important it is to take a little extra care on the 15th of March.
