Creepy gone one step too far

This is what pumpkins look like a week after carving. Eeeew! We carved early because the master carver (K’s dad) is out of town this week. We hoped they would last. Yeah, not so much. I belatedly learned that carved pumpkins will last longer if you coat them with a layer of petroleum jelly right after you scoop out the insides. Handy tip for all you anxious to carve tonight and have those jack-o-laterns last into next week.

As for me, I get to deal with disposing of this (x 3 of them) …

… and then trying my own hand at carving. Wish me luck!
