Deck the halls

Here’s a fast, easy and inexpensive tip that delivers lots of festive sparkle: stow extra ornament bulbs in a glass container. The ornaments look very lush clustered together and, placed near a light fixture or window, throw off great light.

I used a vintage biscuit jar … start tangent: or that’s what the saleslady told me it was. One wonders though why anyone would need to store so many biscuits, and in glass. Though appearing small in the photo, the actual piece is over 24 inches tall … end tangent.

Inside I placed ornaments I bought a couple of years ago for pennies a piece at Ikea. I’d never used them because they look, well, a little cheap on the tree. But paired with thick glass and good light, they add the perfect bling to the kitchen counter.
