Valentines by hand

The  handcrafted Valentines that K made for her classmates were a big hit …

… and she didn’t even have to say, “My mom made me do these.” That was her back-up plan if anyone teased her about making flowers out of hearts. But no one did and she was pretty proud of her work and agreed, finally, that it was worth adding two hearts more than the directions called for to get a more flowery look!

What I liked seeing was how many kids chose handmade cards. Maybe it was an economic choice or maybe more people were feeling crafty. I don’t know. But it sure is sweet to see construction paper hearts, colored doileys and other bits of sparkly handmade.
